Finance Ministry to Analyze Impact of Coronavirus

The Finance Ministry is planning to meet on 18th February 2020 to evaluate the effect caused by the spread of Coronavirus. Also, to further discuss disturbances caused by it on the “Make In India” initiative and the country’s trading system.

On 16th February 2020, Finance Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman tweeted,

China and India have been leading trade partners in Asia and have experienced a huge shortfall in trading sectors lately. 

The detriment caused by the Coronavirus widespread in China reached to 1,665 on Saturday after 142 more deaths added to the list. The worst got experienced in the Hubei region; there was a confirmation of Coronavirus cases that took a leap to 68,500 recorded cases. 

As stated by the Chief Economic Advisor, Krishnamurthy Subramanian, this outbreak in China provides a huge opportunity to India for the expansion of exports.
