Mercer has appointed Steve Sands as the new Financial Planning Leader of its UK global consultancy. Sands will be in charge of continuing to amalgamate the smooth integration of the Mercer Jelf and JLT financial planning departments into one operation.
Additionally, Sands’ team will also be responsible for continuing to help Mercer customers with their financial well being and assist them with their personal goals. The team that will report to Sands will have as many as 200 employees, which includes a total of 50 financial planners. Benoit Hudon, Wealth Leader at Mercer UK, will be Sands’ reporting manager.
Hudon was effusive about the new appointment. He said, “We are pleased to have Steve join us, as we feel that his passion and comprehensive knowledge of the market will ultimately help our clients best address their financial issues and goals.”
Sands is a highly experienced executive in the wealth management industry and has an experience that spans a quarter of a century. He is highly experienced in not only wealth management but also in platform technology. Before this appointment, he had been at Standard Life as UK Director of Platform Distribution and Workplace Relationships. He also served in other roles at Standard Life, which include Head of UK Platform Intermediary Relationships and Head of UK Platform Relationships, among others.
Sands stated that he is delighted about the appointment.
